World Occupational Safety Day in 2025

Every year, on April 28, World Occupational Safety Day is celebrated in different countries, a date established by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in order to focus attention on the safety and health of workers.

The first events that marked the beginning of this date were held in 1989 at the initiative of the trade unions of the USA and Canada. Then they organized an action in memory of employees who died or were injured at work. The idea quickly found a response in other countries, and in 2003, the ILO officially recognized April 28 as an international memorable date, emphasizing its importance for all participants in the labor process.

The main objective of this day is to remind society and employers of the importance of creating safe working conditions, preventing occupational injuries and diseases.
